Illusion.

Image
As my mind wanders through and through Deep into the endless abyss; I imagine a world of perfection, Living richly at supreme bliss! I'm singing, I'm swaying, I'm dancing. I'm smiling, I'm beaming, I'm laughing. Where every dream was at my hand, My Health and Happiness at their prime, Fame and fortune sang everyday; And the Planet too, played a lovely rhyme! Countries had finally embraced peace, Money and law were inexistent, War and terror took an unlimited break; Hunger was unfailingly distant. No evil, contempt and jealousy, Jails were empty and crime at null, We gathered merrily and ate aphrodisiacs; And made love at every cuddle. Living freely without effort, Dearth of any competition. Never ending time had turned timeless, Children needed no ambition. And I wondered at the enchantment; How could there be life sans any strife? My mind awoke suddenly, Realised it was all an illusion! Poem by Amogh Inamdar. Illusion lettering: Jack Stanbridge.

Millennials.

Wonder how it consumes our mind? Thoughts into the future, bizarre. Remembering the merry reigns of past, Thousands of queries entwined. Very purpose of existence, Plainly unable to find; Traits of career and love undecided, Yet we run on sans resistance. And we begin to think again, Why did we grow up, ever? And easily lose footing, Delving into deadly dangerous domains. Chained to this life, are we? Dearth any gain in pondering, Ought ignore others' surmises. Let's take the good, and live it free! And as we age, it's apparent. Life is not status, substance or opulence; But, make worth a happy difference, And the rest would become transparent! The reason, on our last song, We could guilt-free sing without any regrets, That all throughout its high and lows, "My life was worth it all along"! -Amogh Inamdar

Butterflies.

Image
Ever wonder how they get the name? For different shapes and varied sorts; Brush-foots , Monarchs and Swallowtails, With myriad colors, like flowers' same. From half an inch, to a foot across; Their marked wings flutter pixie dust, Looks so surreal sure enough, But catch one though, it's such a loss. Tasting nectar through their feet; Finding mates and laying eggs, Pairing pollen all along, Only living twelve months neat! Enduring the cycle through, Squirm at first, fly at last; Struggle to win, a dictum true We feel "butterflies" when anxious too!                                                             -Amogh Inamdar

Old love.

Image
How my mind runs on and on, And wanders about aimless and deep.  How my heart wants to care and feel, And beats pointlessly without your touch.  How my every breath breathes bare,  Which with you, was full of spirit. How my eyes sees and stares, Watching our memories on repeat. How my ears hear your only voice, Falling deaf on the commotion outside. How wind forth brings pleasant air,  Reminds me of your scent, sweet. How my skin misses your soft lips, For want of an another kiss again. How is it your soul remains warm?  Even on cold winter nights; How is it your name remains alive?  Even if you're buried down beyond; Because, It's aflame with my yearning. So much so, That I pray I die too! -Amogh Inamdar

Stars and Mankind.

Image
Ever think how they stay so bright Through all that darkness' in the sky, Dotted specks of glittering gems; Strewn across the space. As and when the days do pass; They don't hide, run or cower But sparkle yellow, red and white Showing all their true colors. Often known for their favorite shapes, Are only big burning balls of fire, far away. Can we ever count the number?  Running at the infinites. And yet, each one born; Is special throughout its time. Tis' we can conclude, the lives of stars,  Are much akin to our own; They form, they grow and shine, And aft having lived a radiant journey, They disappear into the universe.                                                                 -Amogh Inamdar

If I Could..

Image
If I could get you a priceless gem  To match your spirit and virtue true, It'd take me leagues and ages, To find one, worth your due!   If I could spot a rare fire-fly, I would hold it gently just for you, And share with you it's warmth and light, Whenever you're feeling blue. If I could make green grassy meadows, And fields of florets in morning's dew, With rainbows, birds & bees often, Your happy days were just anew! If I could build a massive jungle,  I'd make it your sweetest home; A place of joy and serenity, Calm enough for you alone. If I could bring you the golden fruit, From hills o'er valleys, high and steep; The taste so sweet & so mystical, Evergreen youth, you shall keep!  If I could catch many shooting stars, High above through darkness sky, Of planets, comets and galaxies, How your wishes wouldn't die. If I could make your worries fall, Deep, into the sweeping sea,  Away ...

Ma!

A dear heart, as always you've been, And far as pretty, my eyes have seen. Where glory meets love and returns the same, A sweet friendship, in it's own sweet name!  A walk in the park, hand in hand, Taught me figures in the muddy sand,  Fed me well, when I'd badly cried, Through thick and thin, you've been my guide. Stood me up gently, when I'd fallen, Nursed my wounds that had got swollen; With utmost care and love behold, Such a thing cannot be sold!  I'd like to mean as much to you, Each moment, each minute, each day, As you meant to me mother, All along the way!   You're given a life to live your name, But You live for me, I have to claim; So, let the times and days all seep, Forever Love is an oath I'll keep. You're my strength, my will to live, Who kills my pains, that I'd otherwise grieve,  I pray, the end doesn't stray us apart, Cause' you are my only happiness, Sweetheart. -Amogh Inamdar ...
